How to cope with the weather related stress




Weather related stress is real and weather affects the mood and behavior therefore, we must be prepared to avoid such stress. Here are some tips that will help you to cope with the seasonal depression and stress.

Tips to cope with cold weather related stress

1. Spend time outdoors and dress properly to keep yourself warm.

2. Try to get maximum benefit of sunlight even when you are at home (open the doors and windows to let the rays come in).

3. Keep yourself active by doing regular exercise. Exercise stimulates the body to release endorphins that help to elevate mood.

4. Take proper care of your diet and take as much as healthy food as you can.

5.  Connect with your family and friends and spend some time together.



Tips to cope with hot weather related stress

1. Stay hydrated.

2. Plan ahead (perform your essential outdoor activities during the morning or after sunset).

3. Try to spend maximum time indoors to preserve the energy.

4. Try to wear light colors that absorb minimum amount of heat.

5. Take smaller and lighter meals.

6. If possible, try to take a nap during day time to restore the energy.

7. Increase the intake of juicy fruits and vegetables.


As weather changes the behavior and mood so there must be something going inside the body such as changes in hormones or neurotransmitters levels.
